A native of Alabama. Brian Davis is the Morning Meteorologist on WTRF 7 News. He has over 10 years experience in TV and Radio.

 

He says he has been interested in weather since he was 4 years old. He would look out the window to see what the weather was going to do. He loved the movie "The Wizard of Oz". Mainly for the tornado in it. After graduating high school, he attended Northwest Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Alabama where in 1996 he received an Applied Science degree in Electronics Communications. He started his own corportation in 1999.

 

Went back to school  in 2003 and received a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. He graduated with Advanced Standing. He continued his education at the University of Tennessee and in 2008 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Operational Meteorology.Brian worked with Clear Channel Radio for 4 years as the staff meteorologist for one of their affiliates located in St. Joseph, TN.

 

Brian went back to school in 2010 and took a year of the Masters Degree Program in Applied Meteorology. Brian has also worked in Huntsville, AL and Joplin, MO, where he worked at WAAY-TV ABC 31 in 2010 as a freelance meteorologist. Brian was the Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter at KOAM-TV CBS 7 and FOX 14 in 2011. While working with KOAM-TV he covered the EF5 tornado that occured on May 22, 2011 using social media outlets and U-streaming. He did such an amazing job that he was asked by Nick Walker, a board member of the National Weather Association and Meteorologist for The Weather Channel to speak at a NWA Conference about how using social media and new technology plays an important role in saving lives in disasters.

 

Brian holds the seals of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. He is also a Professional member of both of these organizations.
